SigEp’s national fraternity staff and FSL leadership partner with the official IFC to ensure student life-safety and to teach accountability. Any violation of the terms of interim suspension during the investigation will be met with more serve consequences. When a chapter cannot or will not self-govern, staff and administrators must take action, including membership review and charter action, to secure the future of a healthy, safe, and values-based Greek Life.

The headquarters staff of SigEp and the chapter's alumni and volunteers have invested considerable time and energy to ensure the success of the WVU chapter. Unfortunately, recent events clearly demonstrate that not all of the membership is committed to living by our values and meeting SigEp's minimum expectations.

Membership reviews are conducted by the HQ staff, usually the Regional Director and at least one or two staff members and alumni. This process is where the review board examines the behavior and attitudes of each and every brother in the chapter to see if they are living up to the standards of the National Fraternity (operations, nature of any risk management issues, etc.) by interviewing all members individually. After the interviews and initial examination of the overall chapter is completed, the review board will determine what members will stay and what members get kicked out. Once the termination of a few or several members is complete, the review board will outline a new chapter standard of operations for every member to follow going forward. This will include following the probation or suspension guidelines with violating them, focus on leadership training and team building, risks of hazing and alcohol abuse, increase philanthropy projects, mandatory attendance and participation in all national events. Membership reviews are basically death to chapters.
