Why is the anchor so big on DGs front lawn??????

It’s from the USS West Virginia the naval ship that sunk in Pearl Harbor. The mast and bell from the same ship is the one in Woodburn circle. All DG chapters across the US have anchors from different ships or gifts. It’s actually pretty cool
