sorority rush

by:

I'm now at the end of spring 17 sorority rush. While going through the process, I was very surprised with some of the things I discovered and other things were as expected.

I am writing this the morning BEFORE I find out if I get a bid, so this is very unbiased.

I went into spring rush thinking I was pretty sure where I was hoping to go. I thought about what I wanted to get out of a sorority and which sororities would be best for me, and hoped they would ultimately decide that I was best for them too.

KKG - girls were pretty, but seemed boring and were almost advised of what to say. Although their house was nice, I didn't feel I could be myself there.

Chi O - Definitely down to earth, great girls. I felt very comfortable. Loved how involved they were. I felt that I could be happy there. Bad side is the house was horrible.

Alpha Phi - overall my biggest surprise. I went there after reading reviews and expected stuck up, Barbie type girls that had a terrible sisterhood. The girls were beautiful, but not the stuck up, " we are better than everyone " girls that I expected. I did not expect to see that the girls as close as they were. True the girls are proud to be Alpha Phi, but what's wrong with that? The house was pretty nice.

If I get a bid to either of my top 2 sororities, I will be very happy. I will know that they want me too.

Yes, be open minded, but don't be aware of what others may falsely think of you. Maybe you can help change stereotypes.

All sororities have some stereotype based upon them. Also, some girls can change personalities after rush since it's an expectation to be nice and all that. Having a good or bad house isn't that important when choosing a sorority since it doesn't portray how the sisters are. As long as you know belong then you should be okay unless bad drama down the road yet no sorority is drama free.
