wvu is changing the rules because they want freshman to have a chance to get used to college and have a good first semester academically. This rule was probably made because of the frats. Some of them have a very time consuming pledge process and a lot of the pledges end up on academic probation after the first semester because of it. Wvu can be a very distracting school so it's really for your benefit. A lot of other schools across the country do second semester rush also. It's not my favorite because some people know how to handle their school work and want to join greek life asap to meet new people and friends but because of the few everyone has to suffer.
