They had no idea what they were doing during recruitment and it showed. I kept dropping them but they kept inviting me back until philanthropy day and I honestly can’t tell you what their philanthropy is because one of the girls I talked to kept talking about her family’s farm. I’m like uhh I’m happy for you but I can’t relate at all

lots of very unclassy girls that don’t care about participating in panhellenic life. way too focused on their social media and only recruit girls based off how good they’ll look on their instagram. A few bad apple really ruin the whole bunch

Literally are desperate for better looking members to show off on social media. They have poor member retention and grades each semester compared to everyone else. They also will go after girls not in a sorority like a boss babe in a MLM selling her products just to get you to meet up to chat where they will give you a bid. Some girls are great and make their chapter not completely fall apart, but they really haven’t made improvements in their grades and overall member experience.

Going through recruitment rn and I really like sigma kappa. I felt like I could be myself throughout the conversation and that’s really important to me....i don’t want a sorority to change who I am. Their girls seem respectable. A girl I talked to yesterday seemed really happy to be talking to me and it made me feel really welcomed even though this is only the beginning of recruitment. I didn’t get that vibe at every single sorority. Sigma Kappa seems like a good place so far, but I still have an open mind.

please forgive my english i speak 3 languages and i am not going to make my bf proofread this lol i was born in the united states but spent my childhood in africa cuz my parents christian missionaries. i am a proud woman of color in stem going through recruitment as a sophomore. i do not care about tiers i have been at wku and know reputations already. i know sigma kappa is not the best and some girls dont want sigma kappa but if i am happy there and meet girls with good spirit then that is what i want. i don’t see them much so idk what too expect going in to recruitment but i know that if i get bid from sigma kappa then i know i can be a leader and help make the sisterhood one that every woman wants to join. i had to look it up online but i like how they have more than 1 philanthropy and they have their own foundation and the website said they value spirituality which is important too me.

I’m going to be brutally honest here, but as a disclaimer this was my experience and doesn’t reflect on everyone’s experience with SK. I hated every moment of the recruitment parties with SK. I’m with the other person on here that said SK only posts their most photogenic girls to their social media. Girls in sororities that I’ve talked to (I ended up not getting a bid at the end of recruitment) have said they’ve tried more outreach towards other Greek organizations at WKU, but a lot of their events have been pretty disorganized and not many people show up. The girls I talked to during recruitment with the exception of one were straight up weird. I hate to say that, but it was my experience. I had no idea what their organization stood for or what its values were other than they’re Christian-based (I think), and that’s pretty important information to know that wasn’t relayed to me during recruitment at all. It seems like they go after girls that just want to be in a sorority for the sake of being in a sorority. I probably could’ve cussed out one of the sisters and still would have been invited back the next day... I dropped them every day but they were like that ex you dumped that won’t leave you alone; I ended up having to return every day except for preference day. Their house is cute and feels really homey, I’ll give them that. Their colors are pretty awesome. Some of their chants and cheers are funny. If you’re not the type of girl that people would expect to see in a sorority but you want to join one, SK might actually be a good option for you. Despite the general weirdness, there are nice girls in SK that have gone on to do great things after graduation, and their sisterhood seems to have improved since I went through recruitment. I know that girls who put tiers aside, go through recruitment with an open mind, and go for the sorority they feel they will fit best in will find friendships in that organization. It is what you make of it. I personally knew I couldn’t make it work for me, though. Your experience may be different.

They only highlight their photogenic girls on social media and half of them don’t even put their letter in their bios. They gave the lowest gpa out of pan sororities and usually take girls dropped by all the others. They still have good girls, but aren’t competitive on campus. They have a strong philanthropy partner, but barely do anything with it other than the walk. They need some help getting back on track

My daughter loved Sigma Kappa during rush. She found the girls to be super friendly and outgoing. They made her feel really comfortable especially since rush was virtual this year. She thought the girls were all really pretty but also loved the diversity of the girls. She sensed that Sigma Kappa had a strong sisterhood and that was important to her. From my experience, sisterhood is the most important aspect of sorority life. Having the highest GPA and winning competitions is nice but doesn’t necessarily make a great sorority. A great sorority is one that supports it’s members and Sigma Kappa seems to be doing that.
