lol who? this chapter is a joke on campus and constantly bails on other organizations events. never had a nice encounter with these girls. they’re always incredibly rude and standoffish at pan events and act like they’re better than other girls when it’s clear they aren’t.

Sigma Kappa is one of the most welcoming sororities i feel like. They always make everyone feel welcome and are always such good people to be around.

Best sorority on campus hands down. These girls do a lot throughout the year for their philanthropies and had a great recuitment last fall.

Full of top tier and middle tier rejects that were dropped due to grades and reputation. Sadly they have some great girls who joined due to connection to philanthropy, but they don’t do anything for it except once a semester. During recruitment, I had one genuine conversation with one girl, the others were so awkward and had nothing to do with the topic of the round. They honestly need the girls at this point, so I don’t blame them for taking anyone. It’s crazy that some girls have to take a new little each semester or like 4 at a time. Their dues are very expensive too. If it weren’t for the only photogenic girls they only post on their social media, they’d have nothing.

NEW ON GREEKRANK
By: the only comment that matters Posted:
I was a part of this chapter for all four years in college and when I joined I was so excited. It wasn't the chapter I wanted, but I overall enjoyed my recruitment experience with sigma kappa. I had no clue about the "social rankings" or whatever tf of sororities on campus and when I found out I joined a so-called bad sorority by what other people told me, I was so embarrassed I didn't even tell people I was in a sorority. Besides the fact, I stayed because I didn't want to have to go through an entire different recruitment. Everyone told me that was a bad idea because "there was no way I could have ended up in SK". Anyway, its such a shame to see the negative comments on here about this chapter because the girls that are still in it try literally soooo hard to boost their standing in the social ranking, but no one will give them a chance. The girls are not mean whatsoever, I truly can say there was not one girl I wasn't friends with in the chapter. The girls are also know how to have fun, the chapter has a great balance of girls who like to party every day of the weekend and still buckle down and get their work done. The chapter is a smaller chapter because of the fact that no one will give them a chance and thats why the chapter has to take girls with lower GPAS, don't want to be super involved, or the weirder girls so the chapter can stay competitive with the campus total. If girls going through recruitment could look past the things they hear about sigma kappa and truly try to get to know the women in this chapter, sigma kappa would thrive. There is so much more opportunity to get involved in the chapter itself with a higher position or with other organizations like panhellenic or dance big red because sigma kappa needs that representation on campus and since its a smaller chapter there is less people to compete with. I cannot express enough how preconceived notions of this chapter ruin their chance to show how good of a chapter sigma kappa truly is. I might be biased because I used to be in the chapter, but I've seen the ins and outs and girls really need to open their minds and see how wonderful the women of sigma kappa are.

My daughter loved Sigma Kappa during rush. She found the girls to be super friendly and outgoing. They made her feel really comfortable especially since rush was virtual this year. She thought the girls were all really pretty but also loved the diversity of the girls. She sensed that Sigma Kappa had a strong sisterhood and that was important to her. From my experience, sisterhood is the most important aspect of sorority life. Having the highest GPA and winning competitions is nice but doesn’t necessarily make a great sorority. A great sorority is one that supports it’s members and Sigma Kappa seems to be doing that.

They had no idea what they were doing during recruitment and it showed. I kept dropping them but they kept inviting me back until philanthropy day and I honestly can’t tell you what their philanthropy is because one of the girls I talked to kept talking about her family’s farm. I’m like uhh I’m happy for you but I can’t relate at all

Literally are desperate for better looking members to show off on social media. They have poor member retention and grades each semester compared to everyone else. They also will go after girls not in a sorority like a boss babe in a MLM selling her products just to get you to meet up to chat where they will give you a bid. Some girls are great and make their chapter not completely fall apart, but they really haven’t made improvements in their grades and overall member experience.

I was in SK for about 4 months and hated it. I only gave them "wealthy" because honestly none of the options explain what they are known for around campus. They did not involve themselves in greek life at all, which was the main reason I wanted to join a sorority, to be active on campus. They post the same maybe 5 girls, who really aren't that photogenic and it annoys the other members. Regardless, their social media looks terrible, is very fake, and seems to not keep a consistent theme. They are also very bottom tier, which you don't know until someone tells you or you slowly start to see it after about 2-3 weeks. they also have cliques and never try to get to know other girls (which they also don't try to hangout with other girls in different sororities either). It feels miserable being around these girls so much so that I absolutely dreaded going to just the meetings alone, which says something considering that that is the only that they do. They never are involved and if they sign up for events they bail and look like idiots, which is why so many other chapters don't like them. Multiple times in meetings they would even go so far as to put others down for "not doing their part", but the person speaking would not do theirs either. Everyone is so unbelievably motivated in this chapter and it feels like nobody wants to grow, which sucks if you yourself want to.There are also so many girls that drop every year that they have to have multiple littles (a lot of times more than 2) assigned to just one big. I would not recommend SK whatsoever, unless of course you don't want to be a part of a positive, fun, involved chapter.
