KD hasn’t had that wow factor for me like a couple other sororities have but I can tell they’re chill and would accept me as a person if I became a KD. That alone puts them at the top of the list for me. They seem pretty diverse too.

I did my best to keep an open mind about ADPI even though I knew before going through recruitment (bc I’m a sophomore) that they are Christian. I’m an atheist. As long as Christianity or any other religion isn’t shoved in my face, I’m fine and chill with whatever. But when I talked to one of the girls she talked about how philanthropy strengthened her faith and made her more humble and had a better relationship with god. It was awkward for me and as much as I wanted to be like “uhh philanthropy is not about your own self-fulfilment” all I was able to say was that it’s hard for me to relate since I’m not very spiritual. I said that to me, philanthropy is your duty as a human. It’s not about religion or competition, it’s that deep down you need to feel like it’s your obligation to help your fellow humans that need help because you have more than they do. I straight up asked if ADPI was a Christian sorority and she said yes, it’s one of the “four points” on their diamond shape to strengthen your faith, and that ADPI was founded by people that had a high standard of “Christian womanhood”. I told her that must be amazing for girls looking for that type of bond. I’m disappointed because I really thought that the common denominator was that ADPI is made up of Christian girls, not that ADPI itself is Christian. They seemed peppy and fun and confident with big goals, and that’s what I was looking for. But I feel like I wouldn’t fit in if I don’t even believe in the sorority’s actual values. Things got awkward for me real quick because it’s not like I’m even familiar with Christianity at all since my siblings and I were raised by atheist parents. I’m really sad. I loved them up until learning this. There’s no way I’m getting a bid now and even if I did I know ADPI is not for me.

I’m a sophomore going through recruitment and haven’t had a problem with anyone in AOPI. I’ve overheard a lot of conversations with AOPIs on my dorm floor last year and it seemed like they weren’t trying to be backstabbers, but those may have been some of the better girls. One conversation I overheard while I was on the toilet was one girl had a schedule conflict and the chapter voted to have their meetings on a day she couldn’t go. Another one (also was on the toilet) was about a girl that came in to talk during their chapter meeting about joining another organization, and the girl apparently talked way too long and made the meeting go late. Just based on what I’ve noticed it seems like every sorority complains about something or someone in one way or another. I’m worried that this year’s recruitment online is going to end up with (all) sororities choosing girls based on superficial things. I wish pref was in person because even though I like some sororities now, I might not end up in the right place because I haven’t talked to girls in person and everyone talks about preference day being more emotional. And it’s hard to read body language when recruitment is virtual. One girl I talked to today was explaining the reason that they changed the motto and while she was describing “inspiring ambition” she used the phrase “faith hope and love” for like the inspirational part. This may sound stupid but that worries me because I know “faith, hope, love” is a Christian thing and I’m an atheist. It’s really awkward bringing up my beliefs to almost anyone but if I end up in a religious sorority I know I’ll end up dropping. I didn’t get the vibe last year that AOPIs were super religious girls so I’m over here like “do what now?” Maybe someone on here can answer me about if AOPI is religious or not. Don’t give me any sorority secrets obviously because like as a PNM I respect that but are they known for definitely being Christian like ADPI or OPA or are they more like Chi O (or maybe it was AXiD idr) that I know had one or two first generation Americans that were also Muslims? It would really suck to start making new friends in a sorority only to find out it’s based on following a god I don’t even believe in

WEIRD girls. Most members are trashy and have no respect for their organization. Only good thing going for them is a new house.

I’m going through recruitment currently and didn’t know a lot about sororities at WKU but was VERY surprised with AXD, they seem so genuine. They have all been so kind and sweet all week and I know so many girls are really loving them including myself. They seem trendy and outgoing. Any girl would be so lucky to be an AXD

I’ve been asked back every day during this years recruitment and I’m honestly so excited. Everyone seems to gravitate towards them and want to join Chi Omega. I wasn’t sure when I first went through but they seem super genuine and authentic. They make having a conversation relaxing. Really hope I’m a “hooty” by the end of recruitment.
