These past few semesters have greek life really going down the drain. Just as everyone else has said before, the current greek advisor has over ruled her time here at South. It’s time for her to step down and for someone new to step up.

Don’t rush. Save your time and money. Cathy Jones has literally ruined Greek life. Wouldn’t be surprised if it gets removed all together in the future.

South’s Greek life has suffered due to Cathy Jones being the Greek life advisor! Until she’s gone, Greek life here will continue to be low quality. There are so many opportunities to improve the Greek community, yet they are ignored!

South Greek life is the worst. My freshman year it was great until Cathy took over. Ever since it’s just turned I into a pile of bs. Save your money because you don’t have to be Greek to do anything. Cathy is the absolute worst

Greek life at south is not the dominant social class which I think is a good thing compared to some other colleges. Greek life’s relationship with each other could be a lot more positive though and the university need to do something about remodeling/rebuilding those houses because they are so old and small and look like there falling apart.

Greek life here is a joke. IFC thinks everyone is nothing but a wild party animal. So many rules and regulations it will never grow. There’s absolutely no reason there should be 3 fraternities with no house and there is no reason there are only 5 sororities. Really? Recruitment is a joke and is so unorganized. No wonder the majority PC was under 20 guys for EVERY fraternity. They needa wake up and realize that’s how you build a more attractive school. But until they unclench and relax the Greek community will never be anything more than it already is.

I am a Pike at USA. The friends and opportunities I have been introduced to through Greek Life are unmatched. Pledgeship was a great molding process, through which I gained mutual respect with my brothers and sparked true friendships. There have been countless events (volunteer work, dance competitions, fraternity-sorority swaps, formal dances, intramural sports, etc…) put in place to raise money for our philanthropies and create new networks. We may have a smaller Greek Life scene than other universities, but what we lack in size we make up for in heart, powerful bonds, and the true love for our organizations and everything they stand for.
