by: HonestlyAs the final weekend of recruitment is approaching I just want to take a minute to remind all you girls that no matter where you get a bid from, give it a try! You have a few weeks after accepting your bid to decide whether or not you want to stay in the sorority. Enjoy bid day, get to know your pledge class, then if you're not happy decide what to do. You will find amazing friends and an amazing big in every sorority and be happy if your give it a try. Don't give into stereotypes, labels, or what tier whatever sorority you get a bid from is. Be happy there is a group of girls that spent the past 2 weeks working hard to get a pledge class that they wanted YOU to be apart of.

Trust me it's hard I get it. Sororities work for months to make you want to join them and then they drop you. But that's life.
You realize every sorority cuts people right? Low tier too. Shocking I know. Getting a bid shouldn't be taken lightly. Even if it isn't who you wanted at first. Because I have seen it 1000 times that the girl who is upset with her bid on bid day or her options at pref round ends up being so happy in her sorority.
It's not always instant. It may not be until your first chapter meeting you fall in love with your chapter. Or until you get your big. But it will happen. Rolling Stones said it best:
"You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you might find, you get what you need"

So true. Honestly I wasn't happy with my bid and I cried a lot, but I stuck with it and now I absolutely love it! You only meet a handful of sisters during recruitment so it may seem like a chapter isn't for you, but as cliche as it is, trust the system. I soon found my truest friends and a support system of girls who I can't imagine college without. UD Greek life is awesome because you do so much with other chapters that it won't really matter if your best friend is in a different chapter. You have a few weeks after getting your bid to test if the sisterhood is right for you, so give it a chance!
