off campus fraternity

by:

Im thinking about rushing off campus. What is the general thought about rushing, joining, and being a part of an off campus fraternity like APES or Machi? Which is better? Are they rising or falling? Pros and Cons? Are these fraternites worth the time?

Im curious and I want un biased good advice

Unfortunately can't help much with knowledge about this topic but i'm in the same boat as you. I heard for rushing you just have to hear about it through the grape vine. From what i've read machi is slightly better than apes but they're both good fraternities

the bottom line is that if a 'fraternity' is off campus than they will be falling, no matter what. honestly not even worth your time. you dont get the benefits of getting a real fraternity experience, because fraternities are much more than just parties

Pros: throw parties, a little cheaper dues, don't have to deal with some ifc rules
Cons: no mixers, no Greek week/homecoming, doesn't really do anything for you after college, struggle to stay relevant, if anything goes wrong during pledging there's no national organization to help you

When you join a fraternity, you don't particularly think of all the benefits a national network provides you with. I believe any on campus organization affiliated with the University is better than APES or Machi. To each their own.
