What does it mean if a certain organization is top or bottom tier? How much does it actually matter

Try and avoid bottom tier honestly. Between the middle and top fraternities the only difference you'll find is hotness between girls. Middle and Top will have parties every day possible, girls will come, and everyone will have a good time. Middle will be with GPhi, ASA, ADPi, while the top are with APhi, AZD, SK, etc.. You'll find plenty of hot girls in the middle tier sororities anyway.

Bottom get all of that just fine. Mixers, girls, parties, brotherhood. Seriously. It means little to nothing.

Tiers do matter, but barely. Top tiers do mix with hotter sororities and pull hotter girls. Anyone who argues that is just jealous. Beyond that though it doesn't matter.

Every frat in my mind has a slightly different personality. You just have to find your niche. Don't join a frat just because it's top tier. That's a big mistake. Join where you fit in.

Tiers are essentially by looks. The higher up you are the more attractive it gets (most of the time). Like alpha phi seems to have the worst sorority reputation on campus and yet they're still top tier. This is pretty much because they have the hottest girls (you disagree and you're lying).
