new sorority member
by: :/I didn't get my number one sorority but I thought the one I got I would eventually fall in love with if I gave it a shot. But I am not loving it yet and I know it's only been a week but I am just wondering how other people felt at this point when they were new members, I feel like I should be really happy but I'm just not

4 days. Seriously. Just wait til you get your big. Thats usually what seals the deal. in The mean time try hanging with girls in your pledge class or older girls you've talked too. Ask them to get coffee or something. Sometimes, you just gotta put a little more effort in than other girls In order to get that OMG feeling.

A thousand times yes to the first comment! Keep in mind you literally have until the day of initiation to back out. It's not costing you anything but your time yet, so you might as well give it a shot for a few more weeks. The beginning is always a little awkward, but soon sisters will start trying to take you all on dates to get to know you and you'll slowly become closer with your pledge class. You'll only feel worse if you drop before big/little week and see what you're missing, so don't give up yet! That wow factor isn't going to come overnight, and certainly if you're not trying!

Think of joining as sorority as like... starting college or high school all over. Did you immediately make friends and feel at home? Or did it take some time?
For me, it took about a month into college for me to even find a group of girls on my floor I felt comfortable with. In my sorority it was a few weeks of going on girl dates before I found my big and other girls that made me feel like I'd found my place. Just like anything else in life, you get out what you put in. That means the more girls you go out with and talk to, or events you go to the more likely you are to meet the people you clique with most.
