dropping after bid
by: FreshmanI went through recruitment and didn't get the sororities I necessarily wanted, but decided to give one a try and accept the bid because I was told that just accepting the bid does not mean you have to stay. I wanted to go to a few events and such, but if I don't fall in love with the sorority how do I drop before initiation? Who do I talk to, and will it hurt my chances of being accepted into a sorority next year? Will they be mad?

I have the same problem. The girls in my sorority ask me how I honestly feel about it and I don't know to tell them the truth or pretend like everything I great. What are the chances of a girl getting a sorority sophomore year if she took a bid and dropped before initiation? Would I have to tell my sorority the truth as to why I am really dropping?

If someone is asking how you honestly feel, be honest! It's normal to reconsider. Meeting a ton of new girls that are expected to be your new "family" is intense, forming friendships take time...it doesn't just happen overnight. I'm sure you're not the only girl with these feelings and it might even make your relationships stronger to admit it. I encourage you to be honest about what you're feeling and stick with it a little longer!
