recommendation letters for sororities
by: freshmanI went to the sneak peak into greek life and asked if you need recommendation letters for rush and they said absolutely not, but i was just looking at the UD Sigma Kappa website and they have like a recommendation form. I know alums from both of my top choices. Should i get them to fill out this form? is it really that important??

If you know alums then yes! It can only help you.
It is pretty uncommon for chapters to get letters of rec, but it does happen. What they probably meant by "absolutely not" needing them was you shouldn't go out stressing about getting one for every chapter. But if you know/are related to some sorority alums who would give you a glowing recommendation, go for it!!

The fact that you think you already know both of your "top choices" sickens me. Keep your mind open going into recruitment or else you're going to set yourself up for heartbreak. As long as you're as good as you think you are, you will hopefully get into one of your top choices without a letter of rec (which you 100% don't need). But who knows, you may wind up loving one of the other 9 amazing chapters we have on campus. Don't be closed minded and naive.

Speak for your own chapter. I know mine has received letters of recommendation in the past and they do definitely weigh favorably for that PNM. So maybe your chapter doesn't care about other sisters from outsode UD'S opinions, but that's your own problem and speaks volumes about your chapter.
