gpa for rush
by: helpim most likely ending my first semester with a 2.7, i know the requirement is a 2.5 but what sororities would likely drop me and which would hopefully keep me just based on gpa alone? my classes were harder than expected but next semester I'm taking more simple classes which i know i will do better in so my gpa will improve, but i know that won't matter for rush. i know of some girls who got into sororities with a 2.5, but I'm just nervous and curious!

They will give you a brochure with everyone's requirements. Or at least they used to. Unfortunately I cannot tell you for sure what everyones GPA is at now, I recall when I went through recruitment AZD was the highest at 3.2.
I am not going to lie a 2.7 is not stellar for recruitment, but go through and see what happens. And if it doesn't work out this time, focus on your studies and try again next year.
It's not just about having a good GPA for rush. You have to maintain that GPA once you are in a sorority. If sisters' GPAs drop below a certain level then depending on the chapter they might not be allowed to go to socials, or have a higher study hour requirement or something. So Really make sure that you are going to be able to balance sorority life with your academics. or else you might not be able to enjoy some of the fun things about being in a sorority.
