sorority rush
by: WorriedI want to rush a sorority in the spring but I'm worried about how time consuming the pledging process is and whether or not i'll have time for my school work and studying or to see my old friends. Can anyone share any information whether or not i'll have any free time?

You will have plenty of time for all that. My chapter could not stress ENOUGH to me how all events during my new member period (AKA Pledging) were OPTIONAL. The thing was though, I REALLY wanted to attend EVERYTHING. I chose to go to just about every new member event and was so happy. Now there were other girls in my pledge class who had other commitments outside of our sorority (club sports, RSO, etc...) so they weren't always able to come and that was ok. Making certain things mandatory for new members is considered hazing. Only a few events are actually ok to be considered mandatory while you are a new member like initiation and stuff like that. Then once you become a member and are initiated, a lot more stuff becomes mandatory.
I know tons of girls who balance very busy activities and majors with sorority life. Don't let it intimidate you.
