I know a 2.5 is needed to rush but, what is a good GPA to rush and what is the average GPA a sorority wants?

Depends on the sorority. They all have different cut off points and if you're going to get cut for GPA it will be in the first round. It's just an easy way to rule girls out. I'd say a 2.8 or higher and your safe for most sororities.

At least a 3.0. Having a GPA below a 3.0 will definitely hurt you with most sororities.
Then again, if you look at the CAP reports for sororities, Alpha Phi and Phi Sig's pledge class average GPA was well in the 2s. But mostly for the others, 3.0 is best.
ADPi and AZD cut very hard for grades.

You honestly need at least a 3.2 to make it past first round of cuts for some sororities. Just make sure your GPA is as high as possible!
