spring rush head start

I really want to go Greek at this school, but my sister who is in a sorority at another college says that the sororities already have girls they want prior to rush. Can I go into rush knowing absolutely zero girls in every sorority, and still get a bid if I click with them, or will I not simply because the girls in the sorority already have specific girls in mind? I'm just wondering if rush is more who you know than who you are. Thanks guys!!

Freshie, the only sorority that knows exactly who they want going into recruitment is Alpha Phi. As long as you click with the other ten, you will get a bid. Going Greek is an amazing experience and you should not worry about this.

this isn't the south. We don't make sure you were from the same town or sports team as someone in our chapter. Yeah it's cool when girls are like "omg you're from Massapequa? I'M from Massapequa!" but if everyone in my chapter was only there because they did girl scouts with someone else in the chapter or played travel soccer with them, I'd probably kill myself. The great thing about joining a sorority (at least my chapter...) is that everyone is from all over and is so different.
So no, you hvae nothing to worry about. Go into rush and with an open mind and you'll find where you belong.
