how to join a fraternity / is it still possible?

Coming to main campus from the AA program in either the winter or spring. Would like to get my foot in the door during the fall and possibly pledge then, if I had too.
Backstory: Got out of the military, loved the brotherhood and would like to have that camaraderie. So back at school as a Soph and looking to make some new friends on campus so I've got a good group when I transition.
Also fraternity recommendations in general would be nice. Read most of the posts up here and have a good feeling which ones I would fit in with. (According to you guys, way too tall for FIJI :/. )

Just go to rush and base your opinions on that, not what you read on this site. You'll find that a lot of people inflate perceptions of themselves and try to make other chapters look a lot worse than they truly are on this site. Best of luck regardless, I don't think anyone will hold your age or anything against you. Also, thank you for your service

One of our brothers pledged his first semester while in the AA program. He'll now be a junior and it's his first semester one Newark campus. I definitely suggest doing it because it makes the transition to this campus much much smoother. Just be up front about it to the chapters you are rushing.
