How important is GPA for rushing a sorority?

You're required to have at least a 2.5 in order to rush, yet certain chapters take girls with only higher GPAs than that. I know a bunch of chapters have a minimum of 2.7 or 2.8. As long as you have around a 3.0, you should be eligible for every single chapter.
