hazing

by:

Is hazing something I'll need to be concerned about when I rush a sorority next spring? I really want to be a part of a sorority and greek life but the idea of hazing scares me.

Only if you go aephi or alpha phi. Those 2 Def haze. None of the other chapters do but I heard theta is kind of getting kind of aggressive and gamma phi doesn't haze, but will tell you once you join and are initiated to "lose pounds" before your first recruitment from the sister side and make you wear gurdles. Not really something that would make you feel good, but it's not technically hazing since you're already a sister.

Every single AEPhi chapter at any school I have heard of hazes. I don't understand it.

That is completely inaccurate, gamma phi does absolutely no hazing. They're even allowed to wear letters immediately after bid day.

gamma phi is getting really risky with their new members. they were such nice girls when they started out at Delaware, what happened? becoming fake during rush and not treating their new members (or initiated members!!) with respect anymore. I'd be careful.

Hazing does not exist for sororities. TRUST ME! You'll be fine! :) I'm pretty sure we have one of the few universities that actually has no hazing for sororities because UD takes hazing so seriously.
