It’s true and it’s so sad that for real Alpha Phis national leadership only recruits women who look a certain way. Unacceptable.

Mostly just reflective of our terrible gen z culture anyway. APhi knows what they’re doing. It’s terrible but they clearly have an engaged audience interested in what they’re shilling out. If only the most respectable groups on campus got as much attention.

Their national perpetuates this process. They aren't going to "admit" anything. It has all come out over and over. Their process involves recruiting for stereotypical white "hot" looking women over anything else (to include grades, involvement, personality, morals, etc). They are as stereotypical "mean girls" as they come. That is why they are having repeated national scandals with racism, grades, arrests and more. It is the reason alumnae volunteers are moving on. Absolutely something to keep in mind. Beauty is only skin deep.

soooo chapters that take members in for good reasons like leadership and scholarship are shat on all the time and Chapters that use and abuse archaic appearance standards to generate membership and $ are a ok

Really unfortunate and immoral but remember based on that info from the original APhi alum blog, regular members had no idea this was happening. I imagine it’s the same thing here, directors of recruitment and prez are probably being pressured and blindsided by their Nationals when they come into town.

So, PNMs would really be well served to take the time to explore this IG account. Read the lengthy letter in the link on the bio if you want to understand exactly what is going on behind the scenes during recruitment. We can only hope that enough PNMs go into recruitment EDUCATED. Spread the word to all your freshman friends. Alpha Phi is toxic AF.

YUP. my girlfriend from high school went APhi her freshman year at another sizeable school and yeah she saw right through it and terminated her membership in the middle of her junior year because of the shenanigans.

I wish NPC would just cut AP out of the organization for breach of ethics and shared values. But, that is just a dream. Come on PNMs! You have a TON of power in this situation. You know what they are up to. Just rank them last after each round. Push their stats down and make them freak out. Don't get lured into their song and dance.

The issue is no matter how many PNMs you explain this to, there’s always gonna be the ones who are like “lol whatever I like my hotness being my defining personality trait and don’t care” and will shell out their own $$$ or their parents to be in a group like this.
