sororities without houses?

I heard a rumor that there are sororities don't have houses? I was wondering if this is true and how that affects being in the sorority and how people see you? Like does not having a house mean "bottom tier"

nope! a sorority having a house or not definitely doesn’t affect their “status.” it’s nice having a house to just hang out in with your sisters but it’s also annoying because they randomly pick girls to live in the house so if you already have a lease it can be a tricky situation. not having a house is also fine too! meetings are just held in lecture halls on campus!

but also please remember when rushing that status doesn’t matter at all and it’s all about where you fit in most!

It doesn't seem like they do. It's like Penn State style situation mostly from what I can tell.
