Ok that’s cool and all pen island.... but here’s the thing....the residents of Newark voted on it. Their council voted on it. It’s not UDs decision. We can pay all we want to UD but it’s not their job to make sure we have fun via partying. It’s nowhere in any of the paperwork you signed to come here.
And also you (or your parents it sounds like) are paying to “have fun” and get an “easy degree”....what a waste of 40k a year. You can blackout at much cheaper schools with much easier programs. And don’t tell me oh you’re not paying full price so it doesn’t matter or you have a full ride. Your statement is literally the most asinine thing I have ever heard. I’m not even going to begin to explain to you what’s wrong with what you just said and I’m embarrassed for you that you think that way.
I agree the 4 persons rule is absurd but also I’m not a Newark resident and me and my parents do not pay taxes here so we have no sway in the city of Newark. And even if they did we’d have to come up with a better argument than “partying is a part of tradition at UD” and threatening to transfer like a baby.

I am both a resident of Newark and in one of the hardest majors at this school I was just mentioning that a lot of people do come here for that very reason (and regardless of how little you care about studying in school a degree here carries more weight than a lot of other places), but either way attacking me personally or calling what I said “asinine” make you any more right. And yes it isn’t UD’s job, but it is the city of Newark’s job to focus on actual problems instead of creating a pain in the ass for the students and people that live here and rediculous revenue generators such as the ones in this bill. This type of thing has been typical of this place and and an abuse of power. Im wasting too much time typing this and im guessing i won’t change your mind, but its cool

No you probably won’t :) but hey good try. You seem very passionate about this and if you’re a taxpaying resident of Newark registered to vote here then make your voice heard. Write a letter to your council person. But saying we should still be able to have giant dates that spill into the streets because we always have isn’t an argument that’s gonna win in politics. The way you were taking you sounded as bad as that Mark kid they interviewed who I can confirm is just as douchey in person as he came across in that article. Get a respectable group of students together to fight the bill and future bills not a bunch of the most stereotypical frat bros there could ever be.

If it is it’s because 4 year degrees will finally be obsolete by then.
Also if they just made the drinking age 18 again this wouldn’t be an issue either.

You know people go here for more than just partying, don't you? They have a lot of great programs. Chemical Engineering is ranked #8 in US News and World reports above Princeton!

If it’s an unruly social gather which is now defined as 4 or more people engaging in “unsafe” activities such as underage drinking, sitting on roofs, litter on the lawn, people obstructing public travekbways (roads or side walks)....
So yeah if your yard sale is doing any of those things no sale sir.
