rush
by: helloi dropped out of rush after sisterhood round because i felt like my gpa was bringing me down and i had the flu and it just didnt seem to be in the cards. i think i want to rerush, but i read a few times on here that you only get the same sororities back. thats fine with me, but is there any reason for that?? im wondering because my roommate is now in one i got dropped from and maybe ill want to be in that once or something like that.

I’ve seen it both ways. I’ve seen girls go back to different chapters I’ve seen some get the same. I think some people are just trying to dispel the idea that hey I can try again later and get what I want next time. There are some bratty PNMs out there sorry some of us get jaded sometimes.
Sometimes rushing as a sophomore is a good idea. You’re a little older, little more sure of yourself, and if your grades are up it’s great too.
Also you’re in good shape because you dropped out before bid day, you have the option to participate in informal recruitment whenever that happens. You can do that this semester if some of the chapters hosting events interest you, or see what happens in fall who else may be doing it. Informal is chill and a great way to get to know a lot of members in a much more casual setting instead of intense formal recruitment. So in case that interests you, contact panhel so you can be notified of any public informal rush events and stay in contact with your roommate going forward in case she can invite you to an invite only informal event if her chapter decides to go that route.

DDD is doing open informal rush events soon they’ve already advertised and I imagine DG will be too. See if you can contact panhel as well and have your roommate keep an ear out for you too if her chapter will be doing informal events. Doesn’t hurt to try if you want to get in sooner rather than later. Fall informal is always an option too. Really it’s so much chiller a lot of girls like it better if they hated regular rush.
