hazing

this is objectively untrue. there are two sororities who everyone in the community knows absolutely haze but don't take it far enough or make it obvious enough so they don't get caught. it's really awful and i feel bad for their new members who think it's normal

the other sorority is probably ASA which hazes the more traditional way w alcohol, which i know for a fact from people who have disaffiliated. also i know people in aephi, and by UD’s standards they don’t haze at all. the worst thing they do is make the new members dry pledge which isn’t even that bad bc most of the new memebers still drink. the only actual hazing i know of is in ASA

Literally anyone telling you what you can and cannot do it hazing. They can’t force you to do or NOT to do anything. The “dry pledging” is BS every sorority has “dry pledging” technically because no one under 21 is supposed to be drinking anyway so they get away with it.
AEPhi also won’t tell new members where a meeting is or won’t tell them there is one until the last minute so you stress about being there late and it’s all mental BS I wouldn’t put up with for joining a sorority.

If the school or Panhellenic council or your national org considers it hazing, it’s hazing.
