how many spots in sorority recruitment this year?

No one can really know the number yet. Quota is decided by how many girls sign up to go through recruitment, and you can sign up until the first week of classes right before it starts
Typically quota is somewhere in the 70s range but that doesn’t mean it always will be the same

My mistake then! I thought it was like 70 but I’m probably wrong, I was basing it off the fact that my chapter gave out around 72 bids
It’ll likely be lower this year with the addition of tri delta, or stay about the same if there’s a big inscrease in girls going through recruitment since class sizes are getting larger. It’ll likely be somewhere from 60-75

I just hope quota starts to go down. My cousin went here in like 2010 and she said quota used to be in the 40s/50s then one year it exploded and everyone freaked out because everyone got these massive 75 girl PCs.

Good news is that the # of spots is based on how many girls rush. So in theory there’s as many spots as there are rushing. But that’s across ALL SORORITIES. It’s all about how many girls are left at pref round. If 1000 girls are invited to pref rounds, that means quota will be 76 because 1000 divided by 13 (number of chapters we have here). It’s very difficult to get cut from all the chapters unless you’re a bad person, have bad hygiene, or have the lowest gpa possible to rush. Most girls who go through rush here would most likely get a bid if they didn’t drop out of rush after not getting their 1, 2 , 5, or hell ANY of their “favs” back. If you go into rush willing to accept a bid to any of the 13 chapters here at the end of the process, you will more than likely get a bid.

The girls that end up without bids are usually the ones who drop out of the process on their own accord. If you get to pref round and rank all of the chapters pref rounds you attended when you sign the MRABA, you most likely will receive a bid. It’s very unlikely that every single chapter will drop you, unless you do/say something really really awful during recruitment or have the lowest possible GPA

But shouldn’t the spots be proportionate to the popularity of the sorority? I don’t think it’s right that a group who is more popular has to be limited in their membership intake just to make it “even” for everyone else.

That literally has nothing to do with how recruitment works and is against what NPC stands for nationally. If that’s the idea you have about sororities then don’t even bother going through recruitment. That is an awful attitude
