gpa requirments (major)
by: nothingI know that sorioties will drop you if you have a lower gpa close to 2.5 but does your major have anything to do with it. I have a 2.7 but Im in a harder major so will sorioties be more open to giving me a bid and not dropping me?

it doesn’t matter what your major is, i was a nursing major with a 2.7 and was dropped by all sororities but 4 which are all considered lower/midde tier. that obviously could’ve been because of other reasons but i know there are houses that require higher gpa’s. but the tier of the house doesn’t necessarily dictate the gpa. alpha phi has one of the lowest gpa’s, and is considered top tier. and i know someone who rushed two years ago with a 2.5 who got a bid from ASA. it really just depends, rush anyway bc you never know what will happen.

^ literally exactly what I was trying to get across. having a high chapter GPA is very important as it goes into CAP rankings, and being a student in a hard major with a low GPA brings the chapter average down the same as a student in an easy major with a equally as bad gpa would. It’s great if you take on a difficult major but you cant expect special treatment, there are probably girls in each sorority in any difficult major with good gpas. High scholarship is part of being in a sorority 🤷🏻♀️
