pledging question
by: georgeI posted a while back about hazing in fraternities but i decided to post again because I am transferring in the fall. I do suffer from chrons disease and cannot drink tons of alcohol very fast. With that being said I love everything about frats so I was wondering which ones have a dry haze or at least a little less harsh hazing. Thanks I am excited for the fall.

I personally cannot speak really for hazing, since I did not pledge more than one frat, but there are some general guidelines. Top frats are more likely (generally) to have tougher pledging (not necessarily the hazing you are thinking of, but more demanding etc.) With that being said, some lower tier frats also have tough pledging.
To be honest though, it should not matter. If you like a certain fraternity and they give you a bid, they should be accepting of your condition and not put you in any kind of danger. If they do not respect it, then it probably is not a group you would want to associate with anyway.

I’m pretty sure I speak for all fraternities when I say we’re all here for a good time. You will still be able to pledge - just explain to your pledge master what’s going on before anything starts. I’m talking the second that you meet them on bid night. If they don’t respect you then drop immediately - trying to stay in will only make it worse. With that being said still come out and rush. Joining a fraternity will make your college experience exponentially better.
