Every sorority is different but I think most do! The day after bid day they usually tell all the new members to wear their bid day shirt so you can recognize all your new sisters around campus!

Technically they CANT tell you you cannot wear letters. Because that falls under that hazing policy that certain people here seem to get so worked up about....
Trust me I don’t think we should force our new members to do anything or not do anything they don’t wanna do, but really think about it until you’re initiated, you won’t know the real meaning behind the letters you’re wearing. That’s why in the past you’re not supposed to wear them until initiation.

Totally! And bid day shirts don’t really count as “letters” when girls talk about letters they mean like he big block stitched letters. Or when I joined we wore the words spelled out of our chapter but we didn’t wear things with the actual Greek letters.

Some sororities do have rules that you can't wear letters until initiation, but to get around that bid day shirts and shirts you'll be getting as new member are almost always not letters as in they just say the sororitys name and not the Greek letters. That's what they mean usually when they say "oh you can't wear letters", not that you can't wear any of your new sororitys apparel!! I wouldn't worry about it :) not every chapter has rules about this, mine doesn't personally

For example, new members in AEPhi can wear things that say AEPhi or Alpha Epsilon Phi from bid day on but nothing with the actual Φ on it until after initiation. Not sure what the exact policy is for anyone else.
