please be honest!!

I know this has been discussed plenty of times in this forum, but it's still something that has me really worried. I'm a sophomore transfer rushing in the spring and my GPA is a 2.846. To me, it's really the only time I can rush since there's no point in rushing my junior year (in my opinion). So, is it worth rushing? Will I be dropped by a lot of sororities because of my GPA?

How would that sorority ever know what your transfer gpa is... when you transfer your gpa doesn’t

when you register for recruitment transfers are required to submit their transcripts, so the sororities have access to the gpa’s

It does for the recruitment process only. If you're a transfer student going through formal recruitment your first semester at UD you are required to submit your transcript. Whatever your GPA was on there becomes your GPA for recruitment purposes. Don't try to answer questions rudely like that when you literally don't know the answer lol

You should be fine. Some of the ones that care a lot about grades might drop you (theta, axid) but you’ll definitely be fine and get plenty back still.

Give it a try. Just know your options may be a bit more limited. That’s all.

Yes, you will get dropped from sororities based on GPA. I also rushed with a 2.8. If it means a lot to you Just the fact that you’re in a sorority, go for it.. It was a tough process for me cause I already knew my top before I entered, and I got so upset when I got dropped from all of them. Just keep an open mind.

ugh.. my tops are gamma phi, chi o, asa, adpi... I'm gonna keep an open mind but will be so sad if I get dropped from them. I'll still try though. Were any of those your top too?

Yes, those were all pretty much my top except for ASA. It is a tough process, but just trust it. You’ll be surprised who you click with while you’re in the rooms. Plus it’s not like everyone hangs out with all the girls in their sorority. There’s so many clicks. You’ll find your way. Just listen to your Rho Gammas, they give the best advice.

I say just go for it! And if you end up getting dropped from a bunch because of your GPA, you can just drop from recruitment. There's really no harm in trying though!! You will get dropped from some, but there are also a ton of chapters who will love you no matter what your GPA is! Just give it a try! Best of luck xo

Does having a 3.0 vs having anything under a 3 make a difference on who will drop you on gpa?

@gpa it definitely does. But no one can say for sure. I was heartbroken when we had to drop a girl one year due to GPA because she was the best (it was like a 2.55, she raised it and ended up re rushing and joining the next year!) but then another PNM who had a rho gamma that was in my sorority told her flat out that she knew for a fact our sorority only dropped her because of her gpa which was like barely a 3.0....however we dropped her because she was a brat the first 2 rounds of recruitment.
