why do people dislike aephi so much?

Overall just not the nicest girls. Lots of bullying issues within their sorority and to people outside their sorority. If you aren’t an aephi, you’re automatically less than them in their eyes. Do what your gut tells you during recruitment. Don’t overthink it.

They aren’t terrible, there’s just a lot of top and middle tier sororities at this school and compared to the others they don’t stack up as far as looks/grades/sisterhood. I know a ton of people who would rather be in theta or dg over aephi because they have nicer girls and stronger sisterhood. But I know a lot of people who’d much rather be in aephi. It honestly depends on what you’re looking for from a sorority which is why recruitment is different for everyone.

Nobody “dislikes aephi”. To dislike an entire organization like that doesn’t make sense. People who claim to dislike them are just referring to whatever they know of whatever people they know from that sorority. In general, aephi isn’t as strong when it comes to Panhellenic support and overall they face consequences for that and for the way some of their members act, but to translate that into disliking the entire sorority is stupid. The original poster is probably a freshman so to put ideas in their head about sororities ahead of recruitment is wrong. Let them go through the process for themselves and find the right sisterhood for them. Maybe it’ would be this one but because of people’s comments they drop them right away. If anything for the sake of freshmen and pnms everyone should be talking about the good things about every sorority and not trying to tear other sororities down on here.
