alpha phi
by: Help?My ex-stepmom was a founding member of alpha phi at seton hall in NJ... if she writes me a rec would that help me at all? Does alpha phi actually care about that? I know some chapters won't even look at the recs.

Honestly, my chapter does look at recs (not an alpha phi though). I don't know who else does. We definitely do most keep rec girls around for at least a round or 2. I mean there are almost 1000 girls going through recruitment sometimes so when everybody was captain of their sports team and on student government and wants to be an elementry teacher and feeds the poor in their free time how do We differentiate? Recs definitely can't hurt.

I'm pretty sure all sororities accept them and I'd say most consider them- but to a certain extent. If all the sisters you talked to in a certain sorority don't see you as fitting in in their house, a rec won't push you through to the next round. However, if you're in kinda in the middle, it may help.
Side note- Don't believe anything said about sororities or fraternities on this website!! Go into recruitment with no expectations or preconceived notions and trust the process :)
