How does housing work? Other schools have giant frat houses, do frats just lease different houses throughout campus?

Pretty much. The only lettered houses on campus are Kap Sig and Lambda Chi with kap sig's being more like your southern sterotypical frat house with the columns and all. All the other frats on campus lease houses and have parties there with some of their houses being their more so main house

the city of newark has banned letters on houses for a few decades now, only houses that had letters could keep them before the ban was made.
