what defines rank?

Says it all in the title. Rushed in the spring as a freshman, had gotten cut because of GPA. Just wondering what defines these ranks. Parties? Mixers?

Didn't rush anywhere because of the fraternity rank. Couldn't care less about that, as its all about the brotherhood.
