How lonng do off-campus frats usually last before they go under?

Theres no set life span, depends how good the people running it are. There has only been a handful of off campus frats here. Pike lasted about 4-6 years but had nationals governance. Machi has been here for 4 years and APES for 2 so far both seem to be sticking around for a while. If you look at other schools there are off campus frats that have been around 10-25 years.

Can someone point me to an example of a formerly national fraternity that got kicked and stuck around for that long in the modern era? I just don't believe it'll work for that period of time.

He's not wrong. It happens more in the south where fraternity life is essential. With such high numbers down there, off-campus frats still have much pull and get big numbers to come out and rush.

look at penn and some of the ivy leagues. the top frats are off-campus rebrands aka theos, owls, apes, etc.

they generally stay strong until the last on-campus recruited class graduates, so 4 years then they go downhill pretty quickly
