Spring informal sorority rush

by: more info!

Hi, I am a transfer student so don't know much about NEU sorority life. Does anyone have info on usual spring rush proceedings? (how selective, process, etc) which sororities usually participate (Ive heard SK and SD usually do)? I know its a while away so I'm getting ahead of myself

these are all great questions.. 10 sororities are in the process, and selectivity definitely depends on the group you are intersted in (ex. KD or DZ will be more selective than Tri Sig or AChiO) but honestly just be yourself and you’ll fall wherever you are supposed to! it’s a longer process but def worth it. good luck :)

there isn’t formal recruitment in the spring, it’s pretty much all COB. so not all 10 sororities usually do spring rush, although i think more than normal are next semester. honestly if you’re new to the school and don’t have one or two sororities in mind to COB, i would wait until fall to rush. it’s totally common to rush as a sophomore or even a junior, and if you wait you’ll get the opportunity to talk to all the sororities and hopefully get more of a feel for one before joining instead of going in blind. spring rush is a great idea for anyone who knows at least about the chapters they’re talking to and maybe even has a couple friends in greek life to give them advice.

That depends on the sorority. Thw ones that normally don’t do informal but are forced to by nationals this year (like DZ or aephi) will probably be more selective while ones who are really trying to get numbers up asap (sigma kappa or KD (esp since they’re usually pretty selective during formal recruitment)) will probably be less.
