Greek life purpose

The point of a social club/organization is to have fun and create friendships. Why are people shocked or down on the fact that the people in the frats/sororities are people that have things in common? It’s a SOCIAL club. Would you join the chemistry club to be with people that hated experiments? Y’all need to chill out with the “only white passing” BS. There is nothing wrong with creating a social organization that has people in it with similar interests etc….. THATS WHAT ITS FOR. If people want to join black only fraternities or sororities, why is that an issue? Only so many POC go through Panhellenic rush. Y’all need to calm down.

This is exactly what I've been trying to tell people. Why is it so bad that I only have things in common with other white guys? If I only want to hang out with white people I don't really see the issue. It's my choice who I'm friends with.

“if i only want to hang out with other white guys what’s the issue” the lack of willingness to expand your horizons to meet people with different experiences than you speaks volumes on your lack of awareness of ur own white privilege and motivation to learn. ignorance at its finest
