Social life at Vandy

Do you need to be in greek life at Vandy to have a social life? Like obviously there are plenty of students not in a srat/frat but do those students go out at all? The reason I'm asking is because frat house parties really aren't my thing and I'd way rather go out to downtown Nashville, but if the people not in greek life don't go out at all then I'd rather go to frat house parties than nothing at all.

Technically no but it’s just easier to have Greek connections. Most girls who aren’t in Greek life go to Greek events anyways. Also if you’re an athlete you don’t have to go Greek to have a social life

Keep in mind your asking greekrank about if you need greeklife so there gonna be bias. It’s definitely fun but you don’t need it. Last year almost everyone was going to bars and the Vandy’s house regulations/restrictions force most of the stuff to be off campus anyway. Frat guys will say you need it bc they want you to rush. If you’re into it definitely do it but don’t feel forced into it. It’s almost dead anyway

Plenty of unaffiliated folks go downtown regularly. Even the people that don't go downtown drink often if they want to. Don't discount Greek events just bc of the rep tho, particularly at Vandy there's something for everybody
