how do sororities make cuts?

"Lots more people dropped than I expected during rush..." is your direct quote. Obvi these women CHOSE to drop...they were given invites to houses they CHOSE not to accept. Every sorority makes formal recruitment cuts based on its own purposes, policies, and standards of character; every pnm makes her recruitment choices based upon her experience with said groups. There are also NPC rules requiring NPC sororities with high recruitment return rates to cut a larger percentage of pnms than lower recruitment return rate NPC sororities have to cut. This is done to assure pnms are not led-on, via receipt of too many high-return rate chapter invites, by chapters that do not ultimately have room for the larger numbers of pnms desiring a bid from their chapter.

If a normal, cute, social girl was cut, there is a 80% chance she was rude to a sorority she thought she was better than & the other sororities found out. I promise you that sororities will take pleasure in cutting freshmen who think they are the sh—, even the most snobby sororities; you’re not allowed to act better than everyone until you’re actually in a good sorority.

The other 20% of the time it’s because even though the girl may be super cool, she’s just not good at rush (i.e. brings up stuff she shouldn’t bring up, gets too nervous, etc.)

There are definitely hidden gems that come through though and end up in sororities that didnt know about them previously. Of the 35-40 girls in our most recent pc, id say we didnt rush like 6-8 of them first semester. These comments make me nervous because I dont want pnms to worry more about sororities first semester than getting adjusted to college and making friends within their own grade!!
