pnms do not drop now
by: SG
Don’t drop if disappointed with your bid. You have everything to gain and nothing to lose by accepting the bid and giving the sorority that wanted you and prepared for you a real chance.
Let them know! They want you to be happy and you will see sisterhood in action.
If you remain unhappy and are willing to take risk of rush next year or want to be independent, then drop anytime before initiation, after really participating and giving it a real try.
Rerushing often yields just as unpredictable results. You may do the same, worse or better.
At Vandy, it just doesn’t matter that much. You will keep the old friends and make new friends. You will go to all the same parties with your friends regardless of your letters!
And no one is immune to disappointment. It happens at every level. A couple of years ago, Theta and Zeta tears were shed. In the end, most girls stay and end up happy they did. Only you can decide but give it a chance.

Don’t be fooled by all the sophomores you see rushing. A lot of them got cut from more houses than they did last year. Houses are required to keep wayyy fewer sophomores than freshmen, so unless you are literally the #1 sophomore choice for a house your chances are gonna be slim. I have friends who dropped a house last year because they thought they could do “better” and end up simply being cut from more houses and wishing they’d stuck with their original house.
