transfer sorority rush
by: TransferHey y'all, might be transferring to Vandy next fall (I'll be a sophomore) and wondering if it would be worth it to go through sorority recruitment or if anyone did informal in the fall. Are sororities usually open to sophomores and transfers or do freshmen get priority? And how much do connections matter, as I have none yet. Also does wealth make a difference? Like I can pay dues for sure but is everyone here pretty loaded? Thanks!

Sophomores definitely have equal opportunity to freshmen, and transfers sometimes do better than girls that already rushed once. It would definitely be worth trying out fall rush (COB) if only to meet some people and practice talking to sisters. COB is super casual and there’s no pressure to keep returning to houses or accepting bids. Most freshmen only have a semester to make connections too so just try to meet people and you would do fine!
