Do you automatically get a bid if you are a legacy?

No. Really: no. In some fraternities you may not need as many votes to get a bid if you're a legacy (ex, instead of 80%+1 you may only need a 2/3 majority) + being a legacy counts for something when brothers are voting as well. But by no means an automatic bid.
