Rushing Greek at Ripon definitely isn't what rushing is like in bigger schools, but this is Ripon so what else would you expect? Greek life lives on greek floors instead of in houses. The students who go greek are typically pretty involved in other campus orgs (mostly the sororities, the frats tend to stick to just sports, although there are exceptions.) Overall is something worth checking out but it's not for everyone, especially with the price tag that comes with joining frats and sororities.

Greek life here is so extremely lacking. There is public talk of eradicating the existing Greek life. I have whitnessed nothing but drama that I’ve heard from girls in all chapters, I am so happy I never joined. It sounds like these girls get nothing from joining the houses except fake friends and drama. I thought sororities were high class professional/social development societies? This school’s Greek life is shameful and casts a shadow on typical involvement at bigger schools. Really let down by what Ripon and their Greek life has to offer. Wish I could transfer but their catalyst curriculum is non-transferable.

Greek life at Ripon is very exciting. The fraternities and sororities are all constantly hosting events for their philanthropies and making appearances at school events. The students in Greek Life are involved in a variety of clubs and activities including preprofessional organizations, athletics, intramurals, special interest groups, and honor societies. The only downside is that they don’t have Greek housing on campus, which does have a negative impact on the Greek community. I would argue that if they were allowed to have Greek houses, the Greek community at Ripon College would be one of the strongest in the nation and would attract more students to the campus.

Great Greek life program! The individuals involved in Greek life are the best in the school. There is a large percentage of the student population involved.

no houses but there are benefits to that (cheaper dues, allowed to have opposite gender over, etc) that you wouldn’t be able to do if there were houses. dues aren’t bad depending on the org especially compared to other schools. fairly selective depending on org (gpas, involvement on campus, personality, etc) but not harder than expected. most orgs are pretty big on their public face so you will be held accountable to have decent grades and be fairly involved. some frats throw way better parties than other so where you party will mostly depend on whether you want just a small “party” (sitting in your own pods listening to music) or whether you want wall to wall people etc. Definitely recommend rushing to at least get a feel for it.
