You should get at least one rec for EVERY SINGLE SORORITY. It is a national rule for a lot of the groups that in order to give a bid the PNM has to have a recommendation. It is not completely necessary to get more than 1 per chapter, but it is highly suggested that you get more than 1. I suggest 2 recs and 1 or 2 letters at least. But if you can't get anything more than one rec, that is fine! DO NOT WORRY ABOUT IT! But if you can get more, then do it! Don't stress out too much. Just get at least one per chapter and more if possible. As for Alabama alumni, it is good for the recs to be from alumni who went to Alabama. But it is not necessary. In most cases, it would be better for it to be from alumni who went to another school but that knows you personally. A rec from someone who can speak from experience about you as apposed to an "information only" rec will hold more weight. But if you can get an Alabama alumni to write one that knows you personally, then do it! Just don't worry about it too much. But yes you do need at least one rec for each chapter on campus!
