I as a guy also used this site to get a sense of what houses I wanted to look at before I came to campus. DO NOT DO THIS. Everything is completely different once you get here. It's true for frats, but especially true for sororities, that any house you join will be fun, have mixers, etc. Core Four houses are not all alike at all either. Theta and Kappa are near polar opposites. Each house in the core four has what's basically an equivalent "middle tier house" and an equivalent "lower tier" house. The only thing that will differ between tiers is mixers, but as I said before, sororities are different. Even lower tier sororities will have at least a few mixers with upper tier frats per semester. Lower tier sororities regularly mix with middle tier frats. Yes, it's nice to be in core four and have the status, there's no getting around that, but it's by no means essential to having a great time here. Hope that helps.
