I agree with sorority. Your step mother needs to contact nationals. I'm sure this question is asked every year and they will have an official answer. If their knee-jerk reaction is no, it might make a difference if she explained how she sees your relationship, meaning if she considers you her daughter/ raised you/ etc. No matter what nationals says, make sure to get 1 to 2 letters of recommendation to every house. I don't know if USC allows this, but I help ADPi elsewhere and we receive cakes, cookies, posters, pencils, etc. with legacy/ highly promoted PNM's names on them. We do not give these out to the girls but we see them. Your stepmom might want to do that for certain houses. I love ADPi as a national organization, but please go through rush with an open mind. My secret is I wanted to join another house and was upset at first. Yet, I ended up just fine, and I promise you will too. What I'm taking too long to express is I suspect I would have felt happy at most houses. It really is what you make of it, and so is rush. Try to relax and look forward to meeting women. I wish you the absolute best wherever you end up, and don't let anyone else steal your joy. This is your adventure and experience.
