I have a 4.0+ GPA, great ACT score, leadership experience, variety of volunteer work, religious background, and many other attributes. It seems like I tick all of the marks, however, there is not a line of Greek women in my family. My sister is the first girl to be in a sorority in my family, and she is attending school at a different college. The reason I am worried about going through formal recruitment is that I feel as if I don't have an established relationship with any of the sororities. I am going into this without any connections besides some girls I barely know from high school. Guess I'm just wondering if having a lineage of Greek Life in your family is a big determining factor in sororities giving you a bid.
