most of the girls who do not get a bid are those who dropped out of recruitment themselves. They had chapters left on their schedule but chose to withdraw. Another reason that girls don't get bids is after Pref (final recruitment round) they decide that they only want 1 or 2 sororities of the ones that they visited for Pref. Had they been open to receive a bid from any of the chapters that they attended that round they would have received a bid. It may not have been their first choice house, but it would have been a bid. The number of girls who get completely released from all 12 chapters is very, very, very small. Also, the number of girls going through recruitment has nothing to do with how many girls get released. More PNMs simply means bigger pledge classes, NOT that more girls get cut. If Alabama can place over 2000 PNMs we can place 1000. Don't listen to rumors that "there isn't enough room in the pledge classes." Moral of story: keep an open mind to all groups.
