My daughter mentioned having great conversations with Sophmore recruits that practically guaranteed her a bid, told her how perfect she was for the house which then dropped her the next day. This is not right! How are these decisions being made? There should be a method to this madness. Treating these incoming freshman and Sophmores with compassion and honesty is vital. Do what you have to do but don't lead them on if there is no intention of asking them back! I believe there is a place for all. Houses obviously have to make difficult decisions but adding to their stress and making them feel less than who they are is not what should be happening in this process.
